Appropriate water conservation technology adoption in Afghanistan

This trial was implemented in cooperation with MAIL, ASAP through the integration of 30 MAIL personnel’s (Research & Extension) and participation of women’s NGO group MEDA to use the MAIL Badam Bagh demonstration as an experiential learning lab for identifying best and appropriate technology for fast delivery for adoption to various part of Afghanistan. Also prepare MAIL personnel as “train the trainer” to transfer expertise and learning to other MAIL staff. The MAIL Extension and research staff has learned through this demonstration, the optimum water efficiency of production agriculture and was trained on disseminating the best result from experimental trial plots for farm adoption. After validation, the best water conservation technologies were recommended to the farmers to adopt through the set of information (applied water, seasonal crop usage, inputs costs, labor, farm sells) to have most profitable and sustainable use of water.
