ABSTRACT
Different nutrient media were used to test the totipotency of Canna
indica. The Canna
responded by exehibiting growth after the 7-12 days in presence of MS media. It
was also observed that Canna grew fast through tissued cultured rasied bulbs
and it was best, when at least 6-8 hours of sunlight each day is provided
during the growing season. This protocol for plant tissue culture raised clone
was standardized at National
Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow laboratories.
