The field experiment was conducted to study the effect of moisture and nutrient management to evaluate water use efficiency consumptive use and moisture extraction pattern under limited moisture conditions. The treatment comprised of four land configuration (Flatbed, flatbed with mulch, ridge-furrow and broadbed-furrow) and three preceding fertility levels to greengram (Control, 15 kg N + 30 kg P2O5/ha and 15kg N+30 kg P2O5+PSM/ha) as main plot and three directly applied fertility levels (Control, 30 kg N+30 kg P2O5/ha and 60 kg N+60 kg P2O5/ha replicated thrice in split plot design. Consumptive use and wateruse efficiency were found highest in flatbed with mulch and lowest with flatbed. 15kg N+30 kg P2O5+PSM/ha to greengram was improved consumptive use and water-use efficiency of mustard. Direct application of 60 kg N+60 kg P2O5/hato mustard, obtained maximum consumptive use and water-use efficiency whereas lowest with control.
